Our favorite wireless active noise-canceling earbuds are Apple’s AirPods Pro. Even though they were released in 2019, they stay up with newer wireless earbuds (including the new Air Pods 3).
They aren’t without limitations, though: when active noise cancellation fails or one of the earbuds malfunctions, some AirPods Pro owners have experienced charging issues. The majority of these difficulties can be resolved with a simple factory reset, which can be completed in less than a minute by any user.
However, if you’re still having audio problems, it could be a defect. Apple has conceded that “a small percentage” of its customers are affected.
Certain sound difficulties have been reported in AirPods Pro units made before October 2020. If your AirPods Pro were made during the affected period, you can get them replaced for free at an Apple Store near you.

What topics are addressed?
Apple determined that two sound concerns were widespread enough to warrant offering this service:
Crackling or static noises that become louder when exercising or talking on the phone.
Active noise cancellation does not perform as intended, resulting in a loss of bass sound or an increase in background noise, such as road or aircraft noise, for example.
If one or both of your earphones are affected, an expert can evaluate them to ensure they are protected and provide you with a new pair. A new charging case will not be sent to you.
What is the best way to tell if my AirPods Pro is covered?
You’re covered if you purchased your AirPods Pro before October 2020. You may easily get replacement earbuds by making an appointment at the Apple Store.
If you purchased your AirPods Pro after October 2020, they were most likely manufactured before the deadline. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to input your serial number online and verify your eligibility; instead, you’ll need to call Apple Support and provide certain model information. If you have an iPhone with which you can link your AirPods Pro, this will be much easier.
On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
Scroll down to Bluetooth and press it.
Locate the AirPods Pro you want to examine under My Devices and press the info icon on the right. Your device’s model number, serial number, and version code can all be found here.
There are only two ways to get your AirPods Pro repaired or replaced under this program: if your AirPods Pro produces crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments while working out, or while talking on the phone – and if the active noise-cancellation is not working as it should, affecting bass in the music or increasing background sounds like those of an airplane or a busy street.
