Must read

It is sad news for the fans that Season 2 of the supernatural anime In/Spectre has been delayed for several months. But thankfully information about a new release has been shared. The TV anime “Fictional Reasoning” is the Japanese name for In/Spectre.

Two years have passed since the In/Spectre anime concluded. This brought an end to the first season of the supernatural thriller series. Whilst fans always knew that sometime sooner or later, the anime would eventually make its return to the small screen, it has been sadly announced that the release date of season 2 of In/Spectre has been pushed even back for several months.

IN/SPECTRE SEASON 2 HAS SADLY BEEN DELAYED WORLDWIDE

In January 2019, the first anime adaptation of the In/Spectre manga series was announced. But after a long wait of 12 months, finally, in January 2020, the series made its debut. After episode 12 got concluded in March 2020, fans didn’t have to wait much longer before a second production decision was made. The announcement for season 2 was made and confirmed in November 2020 and a special teaser preview was also released. Akari Kito, via Kyokousuiri, announced that the In/Spectre was going again for a second season.

In March this year, the announcement was made that season 2 of the In/Spectre anime adaptation would premiere in October 2022 as part of the Fall broadcasting slate. It was also revealed by the Anime News network that Takatoshi Honda would be replaced by Kentarou Matsumoto as the character designer and chief animation director. Additionally, the report would also reveal the two new characters for season 2, and they are Makoto Furukawa as Masayuki Muroi and Aoi Yuki as Yuki-Onna.

Unfortunately, now it is being reported that this premiere window has been further delayed for both its domestic broadcast and international premiere via streaming services. This means that fans now have to wait patiently for further news about the new project. Even no particular reason for the delayed project was revealed. The Japanese website only stated the reason as “Due to various circumstances, we have decided to postpone the broadcast of “Fictional Reasoning Season 2,” which was scheduled to begin in October 2022.”

THE NEW RELEASE WINDOW FOR IN/SPECTRE SEASON 2 SHARED

The good news is that whilst the delay of In/Spectre season 2 is far from ideal, the postponement is not going to be a long one. In the same statement that announced the project being delayed, the Japanese website which handles the series confirmed that the anime will return in January 2023. Although no specific date has been mentioned, fans can expect season 2 episode 1 to premiere via Crunchyroll on either Saturday, January 7th or Saturday, January 14th – assuming the series will maintain its programming slot in Japan from the first broadcast.

Even the number of episodes that season 2 will have are not confirmed till now. But, likely, season 2 will also have another 12 running episodes, for the upcoming second supernatural adventure.
