PLOT
Following a dramatic conclusion to season two, “Trying’s” eight-episode third season begins off with Nikki (BAFTA candidate Esther Smith) and Jason (SAG Award finalist Rafe Spall) waking up as new parents to two kids they are still coming to know. Now all they have to do is cling to them, which is trickier than they anticipated. Nikki and Jason are thrown into parenthood head-first, and as they struggle to negotiate the ups and downs of parenting while clinging to their children and their sanity, their relationships with each other and their loved ones are put to the test.
CAST
Jason, one-half of the key relationship, is portrayed by Rafe Spall. Nikki, the other half of the main couple, is portrayed by Esther Smith. Along with other actors, they are joined by Karl Collins from Doctor Who, Oliver Chris from Motherland, Sian Brooke from Sherlock, and Darren Boyd from The Outlaws. Princess, the daughter of Jason and Nikki, is portrayed by Eden Togwell, while Mickey McAnulty portrays their son, Princess’ brother.
