Food Wars is an English dubbed Japanese series Shokugeki no soma. It is a Japanese manga adapted in several languages. The writer of the series is Yuto Tsukuda and illustrator Shun Saeki. The series has been serialised as 36 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
The series received hugely positive reviews since the release of the first season. The first season of the anime aired between April and September 2015. The second season with the name Food Wars! The Second Plate aired between July and September 2016.
The third season premiered between October and December 2017 with the name Food Wars! The Third Plate. The second half of the third season aired between April and June 2018 and the fourth season aired between October and December 2019.
The makers of the series announced the fifth season would be the last season of the series.
“Food Wars Season 5”: Release date
The fifth and last season of Food Wars was initially planned to be released in April 2020. But was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After the postpone of the dates, the fifth season aired in July 2020. The first six episodes of the fifth season were aired, and the fans are expecting the other episodes to air.
The sixth episode of the fifth season aired yesterday(August 7) and receiving a good response from the fans and audience of the series.
The next episode is to release on August 15, 2020.

“Food Wars Season 5”: Plot
The fifth season of the series set as a continuation of the previous season. The first six-episode also followed the same.
The fifth season is all about Soma and Megumi. They go on a trip to investigate what has caused a ruckus fro the local dinner and restaurants. They find that the midnight chefs had moved to Japan. The real identity of the midnight chefs remained unknown throughout the episodes until now.
The fans of the series are waiting for the release of the next episode.
“Food Wars Season 5”: Storyline
The story completely revolves around the lead role of Soma, who is passionate about cooking. Soma Yukihira aspires to become a full-time chef in his father Joichiro’s family restaurant “Restaurant Yukihira” and surpass his father’s culinary skills, but Joichiro gets a new job that requires him to travel around the world and closes his shop.
A school in Tokyo selects a group of students every year who pass out the culinary test. Its students mostly come from Totsuki’s junior high school, but they are taken only when they pass the entrance exam. Housing varies, but the most affordable is the Polaris Dormitory, where all the characters try to impress the dorm matron with a dish to secure residence.
The top students in the test will be selected for the council of Tem Masters. However, The students can also create a food war to show their skills and select their favourite dormitory. Battles fought in this way could be for cooking utensils, research society facilities, council membership, or even expulsion from the school and furthermore.
