Fifth installment of the American slasher movie “Scream” will tentatively be slated to release in 2022. Spyglass Media Network and Paramount have recently announced its decision to push back dates due to certain extenuating circumstances. Coronavirus is said to be a case of delay while other factors too contribute to the postponement of the film. As of now, the movie will release on January 14, 2022. Shooting for the same will begin at the end of this year in Wilmington. Do watch excerpts of David’s interview:
Relationship
Scream 5 holds a special place for ex-couples Courteney Cox and David Arquette. Courteney and David started seeing each other after the first installment of the movie came out in 1996. Little After that they decided to get married in the year 1999. Living together for 14 years, they, however, parted ways in the year 2013 on good terms. Reports confirm that they again teaming up for the movie, unofficial though. It sure will be a cynosure to watch as after a long time we get to see both of them together sharing screens.
David’s reaction
While having one-on-one interaction via Youtube, David opened up about the movie cast and how he felt listening to the rumors of working with his ex-wife again. He had a smile on his face taking about Scotney. He said-“Cox is the heart and soul of Franchise, I am delighted”. On further asking how it feels to work with her after a long time, he states,” We are in touch, we are co-parents”.
About the movie
The first movie starred David Arquette, Friends’ famed actress Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, and others. Scream 5 will be the fifth reboot of the movie after the Scream 1(1997), Scream2 1997, Scream3 2000, and Scream4 2011. Directed by Wes Craven, “Scream” series became Hughley popular among the audience. It holds the title of highest-grossing slasher film franchise till date as its 4 consecutive movies raked $331 million alone in the US.
Star Cast and poster
In already a star-studded cast, “heights” star Melissa Barrera too joining the movie. Besides, Neve Campbell will play Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox will continue her role as news reporter Gale Weathers alongside David who will reprise Dewey Riley. Apart from this, the movie will be directed by the duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillet.
The ghost face masked in the dark background is the new poster. Those of you who watched the movie will be familiar with the mask. It is the same mask worn by the killer, every time it’s worn by a different person. We will keep you posted on this till we hear something from the makers.
