Puella Magi Madoka Magica or simply known as Madoka Magica is a Japanese anime series which was first released in 2011. This anime series is created by Magica Quartet and animated by Shaft.
This anime series is set in a fictional town of Japan named Mitakihara. It revolves around a young girl named Madoka Kaname along her friend Sayaka Miki who come across an alien-like creature named Kyubey.
Kyubey offers these girls a scheme in which they can get any one of their wishes granted in exchange for gaining magical powers. After obtaining these powers, they have to give up their souls and fight the witches.
First they are sceptical about the plan, so they meet Mami Tomoe who is a magical girl and she shows them a little glimpse of her life. Unfortunately, in one of the fight she dies which scares those girls away. They think the life of magical girls are filled with misery.
But the plot takes a different turn when they later encounter Kyoko Sakura and Homura. Madoka and Kyoko try reverse the transformation of Sayaka. Will they be successful to do so or someone else will lose their life?

Madoka Magica is here already? When is it releasing?
After an amazing Season 1, Madoka Magica season 2 is set to release on the TV screens. During the 10th Anniversary celebrations of SHAFT, the company announced the release of Madoka Magica season 2 in upcoming summer and now we have finally got the date!

Madoka Magica Season 2 has also introduced two new opening and ending theme songs. The title of the opening song is Careless by ClariS and the ending one is titled as Lapis by TrySail.

Apart from the anime series, various adaptations were created based on this storyline. A Manga series was published by Houbunsha which currently has 12 volumes. In addition to that, there is also a novel present written by Hajime Ninomae which was released on 14th August 2011.
