They met accidentally, and after their first meeting Raku find out that Chitoge is a new transfer student in his class.
After discovering this Raku forces Chitoge to find out his locket which he lost when he first met with Chitoge.
During the search, they both dislike each other.
After then Raku comes to know that his father and Chitoge’s father have decided to settle their feud by pairing their children.
According to the decision of the two children’s father for the net three years, Raku and Chitoge have been in a relationship with each other.
This was very challenging for the Raku not because he hates Chitoge but because he has a crush on his one of the schoolmate Kosaki Onodera.
As time passes Raku realizes he has fallen for both Chitoge and Kosaki. After this when Chitoge learns that Raku and Kosaki like since from middle school, she support them by leaving Japan.
After this Raku and Kosaki look for Chitoge.
Also at the end, we see a locket that Raku loses at the beginning of the story. We also get to know that the locket was given by the Kosaki to Raku when they were in middle school and also Raku had a secret promise to his childhood sweetheart Kosaki.
