Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer of the company is all set to enter into a new venture with India. After a couple of discussions with the Karnataka government, there is a high chance that India is going to have the very own “R&D” Centre in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru is widely famous worldwide for its high-tech infrastructures, offices and the like. Not only this, the place is already known as an R&D hub for various sectors including aviation, biotechnology and information technology. With this new partnership with Tesla, Bengaluru would be gaining much recognition in the global market as well.

There are more than 400 Research and Development Centers including the very famous ones. John F. Welch Technology Centre, IBM, Samsung and many more are already having their centers in Bengaluru. Moreover, Karnataka is also the very first state to launch its own electric vehicle policy followed by a chain of startups including OLA Electric, Sun Mobility and Ather.

Elon Musk: India has a restrictive government policy

The CEO of Tesla Inc. had prior thought of joining hands with India as the country ranks fourth in terms of the largest automobile market. But according to his words, the nation has quite strict government policies despite the open economy system. This has pushed his year-old decision until now when he finally decided to enter this market.

Tesla has already overtaken Toyota and became the best valuable carmaker of the world. With this the brand CEO opened up a Gigafactory in Shanghai back in January 2020. But later on, he even tweeted that the company will open another center in Asia only.

Elon Musk: Meeting with the government

After this pandemic situation, many companies are delinking their tie ups with China. Even before approaching India, Tesla had its center only in China outside US. Karnataka is actively trying to enter into some new ventures and thus has opened its task force just to pursue the big companies.

Elon Musk has already hold two meetings with the industries department of the Karnataka government. Although they have decided everything but the final announcement will only be done after the third round of discussion which is going to take place in this month.

On 10th September 2020 the preliminary meeting held with the government officials. The follow up meeting taking place later this month will come up with some plans for the Tesla executives.
