Many rumours about the release date for the ‘Top Gun’ the sequel was thrown around by people ever since Tom Cruise, in 2016, on The Graham Norton Show gave a hint to people about the discussion he and producer, Jerry Bruckheimer were having regarding the sequel. Tom Cruise, in June of 2017, revealed the name for the movie, not long before director Joseph Kosinski, appointed into the film because the director of the ‘Top Gun’ movie passed away in 2012, sadly. The shooting for the movie began in 2018 when Tom Cruise shared a picture of him on the runway as Maverick.

Paramount gave an announcement that the film’s release date is pushed to little less than a year, releasing on June 26th, 2020, changed to June 24th, 2020. Then like every blockbuster film, the date got pushed to December 23rd, 2020. Unfortunately, that is not possible now because of the coronavirus around, making it difficult to release in theatres. Paramount Pictures finally said that ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is set to release on July 2nd, 2021. Hopefully, the dates dont get postponed again because fans are eager to watch this sequel to the famous ‘Top Gun.’

Plot: ‘Top Gun: Maverick’

The plot for the movie is thirty years later when Pete Maveric Mitchelle is finally a test pilot after serving the navy as one of their best aviators. Pete is to train a fresh batch of Top Gun graduates for a mission that not living pilot has seen before. Pete faces memories from his past when he encounters his late best friend Nick Goose Bradshaw’s son, Bradley Rooster Bradshaw.

 Maverick is unsure about what lies ahead of him and how to face the flashbacks from his past. He now has to try and complete the task of confronting his biggest fears, along with the concern, he’s buried all these years. Maverick must also face a mission which asks for the sacrifice of the lives of whoever chooses to fly.
