Deadpool Joins MCU, Revealed in Trailer, Check Out Deadpool's First MCU Crossover

Deadpool finally joins the Marvel cinematic universe thanks to his very first crossover... with Korg from Thor Ragnarok?

Okay, so this isn't the MCU debut of Ryan Reynolds' Merc With A Mouth but don’t worry because he and Taika Waititi did appear as their respective comic book characters together at a screening for Free Guy which features both actors.

Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi appeared together at a press conference promoting their upcoming film Free Guy. This is not Deadpool's debut in the MCU but it might as well be: both actors are playing themselves in this comedic sci-fi comedy which features them teaming up against an evil corporation who wants to take over Earth.

The trailer for Free Guy is not what I expected. For a minute, it seemed like Deadpool was going to jump into the Marvel Cinematic Universe...however, they are meeting suddenly! Check out this video below:

The input text has been summarized and made more interesting by providing context about why the idea of MCU crossover seems unusual and then giving viewers information on how these two will meet up.Deadpool Joins MCU, Revealed in Trailer, Check Out Deadpool's First MCU Crossover

In the upcoming film "Free Guy" Reynolds plays a video game NPC who gains free will. Waititi appears in this movie as well playing an antagonist with intent to thwart Reynolds' newfound consciousness.

Free Guy was a Marvel movie before the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, and it sounds like they're trying to use that connection in some way.

The MCU is a big, expansive place. Beyond the movies and TV shows that we know are part of it- there's also Free Guy! The series premiered on Disney+, an upcoming streaming service that will be home to plenty of other original content as well. One way they're promoting this show? Get Tom Holland (Spiderman) together with Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok Director), who both have projects in development for House of Mouse, and turn them loose!

We will see Deadpool eventually in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it'll be an R-rated film according to Kevin Feige, head of Marvel. Until then we are likely going to get a chance at Korg first when he appears as one of Thor's sidekicks who is also directed by Waititi himself!

  • Deadpool is finally joining the Marvel cinematic universe thanks to his very first crossover
  • Waititi will be appearing in Disney+'s Free Guy in an unrelated role, with the MCU's Ryan Reynold as the main character
  • It won't be R-rated since it's a Disney movie but we'll see Korg and waiting together as Thor Ragnarok Director and comedic sidekick respectively soon.
  • Free Guy was a Marvel movie before the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, and it sounds like they're trying to use that connection in some way.

The first sentence is essentially an introduction to the article with little information. The first paragraph also serves as a brief background for the film, but it doesn't elaborate on what "this very first crossover" entails or with whom Deadpool is crossing over. It does not make clear if this is across multiple movies (like when Spider-Man made his debut in Captain America: Civil War) which would be relevant later.
