The California government has released a new digital vaccine verification system to replace the small CDC cards that residents can use in place of inoculation against COVID-19. The portal asks Californians for personal information, including age and date of birth with their record matched automatically if it is correct then they will receive a text or email which includes a link to their digitized card as well as an image on how this looks when scanned by observers.
The input tone should be informational but needs some more detail about what kind of message the output contains and why people might want one versus another.
The digital vaccine cards are not “vaccine passports,” the state says. They contain only the same information as you’ll find on the CDC paper card, and California will not make them mandatory. The digital version is just one of many options to show proof of vaccination for coronavirus, according to a FAQ section from California’s Department of Public Health.”
California has reopened and is back to business as usual. No more physical distancing, capacity limits on businesses, or a tier system that varied the requirements by county for those with vaccines. You can go about your day-to-day routine without any restrictions because you are vaccinated.
The new “Excelsior Pass” from New York state has allowed many people to attend events that were once reserved only for citizens and residents of the surrounding area. The program is built by IBM, which offers information about it on their website.
The new California vaccine pass will make it easier for people to get vaccinated, but there are still some issues that need to be worked out. For example, not all records have updated contact information and they may even include outdated data as well according to Rick Klau who is a chief tech innovation officer in the state of California.
