They are planned for the following year as the Earth and Venus would be aligned such that the spacecraft can be put in the planet’s orbit with the use of minimum propellant. These include the investigation of the surface processes and shallow subsurface stratigraphy, which includes active volcanic hotspots and lava flows, the study of the structure, composition, and dynamics of the atmosphere, and the investigation of solar wind interaction with the Venusian Ionosphere.

Apart from ISRO, NASA is also sending two spacecraft to Venus to study the existence of life on the planet. The US space agency has decided to spend about $1 billion to explore the world of Venus. Also, there has been an announcement from the European Space Agency regarding a mission to the neighboring planet. The next orbiter to take rounds over Venus will be Europe’s EnVision. This would provide a holistic view of the planet from its inner core to the upper atmosphere.
