On Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and devices that enable Cloud Gaming, “some users are unable to purchase & launch games or initiate Cloud Gaming sessions,” according to Xbox Support.

Xbox Support tweeted the following update: ‘We are still working on resolving the issue.’ In the meantime, resetting your Xbox system may help you launch games more quickly.”

 

While customers with games on the disc should have no problems beginning them, those with digital games may have problems. Starting cloud games can be difficult, and those who do connect may be abruptly disconnected once the game begins. Finally, new games may not be available for purchase on the Microsoft Store.

However, it will not pick up where you left off, the new interface reminds you of the Xbox Series X game switcher. In that, you can jump quickly from one title to the next without opening a launcher or pulling out a mouse and keyboard to click on a shortcut. If you use a mouse and keyboard, the feature appears to be accessible in the Xbox Game Bar (Windows + G). You can use this feature quite often when you connect your gaming laptop to your TV to play being at your comfort zones. This would, in theory, prevent me from having to connect a wireless mouse and keyboard to navigate around Windows 11.

 

According to Microsoft, the controller bar opens when you pair or connect a controller to your Windows 11 PC that’s running the latest Insider Preview build in either the Dev or Beta channels. By pressing the Xbox button, you can manually activate the interface when you aren’t in a game.  Microsoft specifies that the feature works by pressing the Xbox button. So it would not work with other controllers, like the PS5 DualSense. Microsoft may confirm this later.

How can one use the controller bar on PCs?

If you’re a Windows Insider and you want to give this experimental feature a shot then you have to download the latest Insider Preview Build (225xx).  That should be from the Dev or Beta channels. After this, you need to download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Microsoft Store using the link.

You have to sign in to your Microsoft account using the app once it is downloaded. Then go to “Previews” and join the Windows Gaming preview after you’re signed in. Check for updates in the Microsoft Store and make sure you’re running version 5.722.5022.0 or the latest one. After all this, you need to reboot your PC and the new interface should appear after pairing with your controller.

The bar owner asked Miller many times to calm down. The woman got a half-inch cut on her forehead for which she was treated. Authorities arrested Miller after a very short time after midnight on March 28. They charged the actor with disorderly conduct and harassment. I watch everything from high-budget fantasy epics to gritty dramas, YA romances, Emmy bait, network sitcoms, true-crime documentaries, and everything in between. But there are times when you just want to sit back, relax, and watch a skilled lawyer thrash his opponent in a posh Los Angeles courtroom.

With “The Lincoln Lawyer” (streaming now, out of four),

A new adaptation of Michael Connelly’s books created by David E. Kelley and Ted Humphrey, the meat-and-potatoes legal drama, long a stalwart of broadcast television with series like “Law & Order,” “The Practice,” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” has come to Netflix. The series has a soothing quality to it, as it takes place in a universe with well-defined ideas and attractive characters. It’s a well-acted, fast-paced, and entertaining series that isn’t unduly ambitious and doesn’t have to be. Its appeal stems from the fact that it’s something familiar done very well, and it’s the type of show Netflix should be producing all the time.

Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), a defense attorney known for foregoing an office in favor of the backseat of a chauffeured Lincoln, was previously brought to the screen in a 2011 film starring Matthew McConaughey (a town car in the original books, but now updated to a swanky SUV). Mickey has been out of the legal profession for a year following a near-fatal surfing accident that left him addicted to opioids. When another defense attorney is murdered, Mickey is obliged to return to practice, including the murder trial of a tech CEO (Christopher Gorham), which may be the most important case of his career.

As he tries to reclaim his legal mojo, Mickey enlists the services of his second ex-wife and legal assistant Lorna (Becki Newton), investigator Cisco (Angus Sampson), and driver Izzy (Jazz Raycole). He’s also attempting to reclaim his daughter Hayley (Krista Warner) and his first wife Maggie (Neve Campbell), a prosecutor.

The unpretentiousness of “Lincoln” is so appealing.

It isn’t attempting to address major questions, except whether Mickey’s most important client is guilty. As the flamboyant lawyer, Garcia-Rulfo is a little stiff at first, but as he gets more comfortable and Mickey discloses more about himself, he grows on you. It’s evident how Garcia-Rulfo got the part in the series’ climactic courtroom address. This version of Mickey can win over any jury with quips, sneaky smiles, and a flair for oration. Like co-creator Kelley’s other classic legal dramas, such as NBC’s “The Practice” or Fox’s “Ally McBeal,” the dialogue is snappy and humorous.

The series is far from flawless. The emotional stakes for the subplots could be better defined, especially in Maggie’s human-trafficking case. Lorna appears to be Mickey’s sister rather than his ex-wife. When the plot swings away from little cases and Mickey is solely focused on his huge murder trial, a few episodes lag.

“Lincoln” is still a lot of fun, and that’s all we can ask of it. Netflix is in the midst of a crisis, having lost 200,000 subscribers this year, and will soon be altering up its tried-and-true technique for new programming. “Lincoln” is the type of show that has been missing from the streaming service, which already offers a slew of pricey, effects-heavy genre entertainment like “Stranger Things” and A-list prestige stuff like “Ozark.” “Lincoln” is in the middle, both financially and in terms of star power, but its quality doesn’t suffer as a result.

Goldilocks was always drawn to the middle choice. A good episode of “The Lincoln Lawyer” feels exactly perfect after a hard day.

NVIDIA isn’t saying much about the event right now, but they’ve vowed to show off the newest products and technologies for gamers and creators. This is an intriguing comment from NVIDIA, especially because the company has just completed its whole Ampere series. The green team is anticipated to release its Ada Lovelace ‘GeForce RTX 40’ series graphics cards in the second half of 2022, so this is a little early for the business to show off its next-gen GPUs for gaming and workstations. NASA’s Mars helicopter Ingenuity is still going strong after 19 flights on the Red Planet in a year.

One year ago today, NASA’s Perseverance rover landed on the floor of Jezero Crater with a tiny chopper (February 18).

Ingenuity, a 1.8 kg rotorcraft, established that aerial research is possible on Mars despite the planet’s thin atmosphere in five pioneering flights last spring. It was the first rotorcraft to make powered flight beyond Earth.

 

“We’re still going strong,” said Jaakko Karras, deputy operations lead for Ingenuity at NASA‘s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California, to Space.com.

 

“There isn’t a single topic about which we are concerned,” he added. “Everything is holding up well.”

Ingenuity’s $85 million mission was meant to be completed. According to the article, the solar-powered chopper performed so well and remained so healthy that NASA granted a mission extension.

 

During this new phase, the rotorcraft has been testing the limits of Red Planet flying. For example, on August 4, the helicopter traveled 383 meters of ground, rose 12 meters above the red clay, and achieved a top speed of roughly 19 kilometers per hour.

 

On these lengthier, more ambitious missions, it also serves as a scout for Perseverance, assisting the rover crew in planning routes and scoping out possible research objectives.

The Wicked Witch of the West in the film “The Wizard of Oz” wanted the ruby slippers, but a Wisconsin woman claims she owns Dorothy’s dress, which was recently discovered at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

 

The blue-and-white checkered dress was given to the late Rev. Gilbert Hartke, who was a priest and longtime director of the school’s drama program, and was one of several worn by Judy Garland’s character Dorothy in the film.

The dress was allegedly given to Catholic University, but Barbara Ann Hartke, who claims to be Hartke’s niece, claims that actress Mercedes McCambridge gave the dress to her uncle “specifically and publicly” in 1973, not the school.

 

 

Just days before the school’s scheduled auction of the outfit, which might fetch more than $1 million, Barbara Hartke has launched a lawsuit against Catholic University and auction company Bonhams.

 

In court records, Barbara Hartke stated that McCambridge intended the dress to be a personal gift to Gilbert Hartke, with whom she had a long-term personal relationship, in exchange for his assistance in the actress’ battle with alcohol and substance misuse.

According to the lawsuit,

“she [McCambridge] was a close confidante of Judy Garland, and the gift of the outfit to Gilbert V. Hartke was to reward Hartke for his advice and support.”

The gown had gone missing for decades before being discovered atop staff mailboxes at the school’s Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art.

 

Barbara Hartke is requesting that a federal judge in New York intervene to halt the sale and proclaim her the legitimate owner of the outfit. She claimed the school was attempting to sell the outfit unlawfully.

 

According to court filings,

“the defendants’ temerity in failing to honor his memory and dismiss his legacy is insulting and distressing to the plaintiff and other living heirs.”

Barbara Hartke said that the school’s planned sale of the dress to unknown buyers would inflict irreparable pain and that no amount of money could compensate for the outfit’s restoration to the family.

 

A spokesman for The Catholic University of America, Amber Roseboom, said the university is looking into the allegations stated in the lawsuit.

Bonham’s auction has also been contacted by WTOP for comment.
